Solution for individuals and home offices
Many individuals and home office users only need a quick and easy solution for online storage, data backup and file sharing. DriveHQ has the right solution for you. Just sign up for an account online, and you can upload / download files on DriveHQ.com website.
Companies like Dropbox offer a convenient way for users to synchronize their files across multiple devices. However, such service falls short on more sophisticated features. For example:
- There is no Cloud-based File Manager or Drive Mapping. You must sync cloud files to your PC. If you have multiple PCs and lots of data,
it can waste a lot of your disk storage space on each PC, and slow down your Internet connection; and if your computer does not have enough free disk space, it will not work at all!
- You can only synchronize a special “dropbox” folder.
- You cannot synchronize a folder outside of the “dropbox” folder.
- You cannot synchronize multiple folders on different drives (removable drives, network drives).
- You cannot synchronize different folders with different schedules.
- You cannot automatically backup your files on your computer.
- You cannot share a folder with read-only permission; and once you shared a folder to another user, the folder also becomes the other user’s folder. Not only does it take the storage space of the other user, but you can never un-share a folder.
DriveHQ’s service can solve all of the above problems. It combines ease-of-use with powerful features. Our flagship client software DriveHQ FileManager works just like a “cloud-enabled” Windows Explorer or Mac Finder; allowing users to easily drag and drop files and folders, synchronize local and remote folders, and share folders to various users with selective permissions.
DriveHQ also offers automatic data backup software DriveHQ Online Backup. Just follow the wizard to create backup tasks, and it will automatically backup your data according to your settings.
For non-techie users, DriveHQ's enterprise WebDAV solution can map DriveHQ storage as a network drive. Anybody can use this feature without the need for training.
Example 1: A home user with multiple PCs and devices
Jim has three computers at home: one for himself, one for his wife and one for his son. Together, they have about 1000 images, 100 songs, 100 video clips and 200 office documents. The total file size is about 5GB.
Using DriveHQ FileManager, he can easily drag & drop files or folders to his cloud account and synchronize multiple folders (including externals drive with his wife). He can also backup his wife and son’s computers using DriveHQ Online Backup.
Jim wants to share his son’s pictures with his parents. With DriveHQ, Jim can select a folder and share it to his parents (or anybody else). His parents can then click on the link sent to them and access the pictures immediately.
Jim was thinking to order multiple services from Dropbox, Box and Carbonite for multiple computers until he found DriveHQ. Jim only needs to order the Personal Plus plan for $59.99/year. Jim is thrilled that with our bundled solution, he no longer has to pay extra for multiple computers or advanced features.
Example 2: A small CPA firm with multiple PCs and important business data
Robert is a CPA working from his home office. He has about 100 business clients and 300 individual clients. He has three computers and about 18GB of business data.
He needs to share files with his assistant, but does not want all files to be visible. He also needs to backup his client’s data (Quickbooks files) to a secure offsite storage. This way, no matter what disaster happens to his home office; his business data will be safe. Lastly, Robert must have the ability to work on his data remotely at his client’s office or from a hotel.
Robert tried Dropbox, Box and Google Drive, finding that none offer data backup service. Rather, they offer synchronization only to a single designated folder. Using folder synchronization for data backup is not safe. If he deletes a file from his computer, it will be deleted from the cloud.
With DriveHQ’s service, Robert can create a free sub-account for his assistant with full control over permissions, so he is not concerned that his assistant will quit and keep business files in his personal account. What’s more, his assistant can only see the folders that Robert chooses to share to him.
Robert is thankful that he no longer has to carry around a USB drive or send mass emails to himself due to email file size limits. DriveHQ allows him to save files to his account with ease and access through any web browser, FileManager or ftp client software.
Moreover, knowing his important business data is automatically backed up to offsite secure storage, Robert can work with peace of mind; and it only costs him $179/year!
