- What is DriveHQ Email Server Hosting? Is it better than other free emails?
DriveHQ Email Hosting is different from any other free email services. It is designed for
high-end users, professionals and businesses. It is NOT designed for free users, spammers or mass emailers.
You can use most email client applications such as Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express to access DriveHQ email.
You can keep your emails on the server or download to your local PC; you can create multiple email accounts for your
organization and have virtually unlimited email box sizes; you can also
configure high-end enterprise features such as private domain emails, auto reply, auto forward, email aliases
and mailing list, etc.
DriveHQ email server hosting service also supports mobile devices such as iPhone / iPad, Windows Mobile, Blackberry and Android devices.
- How do I get started with DriveHQ email?
If you are not a DriveHQ member, you need to sign up now. Once you become a member and order a service,
then you have an email account: USERNAME@firstcloudit.com. Please visit our online help pages for Microsoft Outlook
and Outlook Express. For all other email client software, please choose the default SMTP/POP3/IMAP4 port setting,
both the SMTP and POP3/IMAP servers are mail.firstcloudit.com. Please note all out-going emails require logon.
- What is the maximum email box size and the maximum email size?
DriveHQ offers 1GB free email box size; if you use Outlook or Outlook Express,
then you can get unlimited email box sizes by downloading emails to local. The maximum email size is 10MB for non-members;
20MB for premium members. It is strongly recommended that you upgrade to premium service for Outlook email
access as otherwise, there will be many restrictions.
- Is it possible to email a very large file, say a 200MB file?
While it is possible for DriveHQ email to support such big email attachments,
other email servers generally can only handle less than 10MB emails. So in this case, please use
DriveHQ Online Storage and Sharing service. You can share any size files or folders very easily with DriveHQ FileManager
or any FTP client software.
- I have a small business with 10 employees. Can I get 10 email addresses?
Yes, you can use our Group Account service. You can easily upgrade to a group account,
and then create sub-accounts. Group Account service gives more flexibility. You can manage sub-accounts yourself.
Cost-wise, it is also a lot cheaper than buying services individually.
- What are the most frequent problems our users experience?
(1) When setting up DriveHQ email account, please make sure that "All out-going emails require logon" is
checked and the logon credentials should be the same as the POP3 settings (the same as DriveHQ account logon info).
(2) Some spam-filters might incorrectly filter DriveHQ emails. In this case: check your junk / bulk / spam email folders
and contact the other email service provider to not filter DriveHQ emails.
- Can I use DriveHQ email for sending mass / spam emails?
Mass emailing / spamming is strictly prohibited. Your account will be disabled
immediately should you do that. As a prevention for such abuse, each user can send a limited number of emails
per day, incl. premium users. For normal business use, you will not have any problem. But spammers cannot send
more than 5 emails / day and spammer accounts are automatically monitored, detected and disabled.
- Can I access DriveHQ email from multiple computers (using Outlook) or from mobile devices?
Obviously, you can access DriveHQ Email using webmail from any number of computers.
For Outlook access from multiple computers, please make sure you use IMAP4 or use POP3 and keep emails on server for a few days before you delete them. It is recommended to keep your emails on server for 5 days.
DriveHQ email server supports mobile devices, such as iPhone / iPad, Windows Mobile, BlackBerry and Google's Android, etc.
- How can I create my own domain email accounts?
You must be a premium user to use private domain email feature. First of all, you must own a domain name.
If not, you need to register a domain with any domain registrar company, e.g. GoDaddy.com, network solutions or Register.com, etc.
Once you have a domain, please add a DNS MX record using their web interface. The MX record should point to the email server mail.firstcloudit.com: 66.220.9.46.

Do you offer any email backup software?
Yes, DriveHQ offers DriveHQ Online Backup software, which can automatically backup your files and emails; a better email backup
program is DriveHQ EmailManager, which can automatically backup your emails, contacts, account settings and email rules.
It is far more efficient than any Outlook .PST file based backup software.

Do I need to install any DriveHQ client software to access DriveHQ email?
No, you can access DriveHQ email from the webmail interface, or from any email client software that you use.
- Can I set email rules and email filters?
Yes, using Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express, you can setup any email rules or filters.
- Is DriveHQ email server hosting service free?
Yes and no. DriveHQ email hosting service is bundled with our cloud IT service for free.
It is not designed to be just another free email service.
If you are only looking for free email service, probably use it to send spam emails or fake an identity,
then DriveHQ email service is not for you.
Our free service is for demo-purpose only. It has a lot of restrictions.
It is strongly recommended to upgrade to premium service. If you upgrade, you will have access to a lot of high-end business
email server features.
Please note DriveHQ account has several types: (1) Free Account and True Account; both types are free service accounts.
If you sign up DriveHQ with a free email address (such as Hotmail/Gmail), your account type is a Free Account.
If you sign up with a corporate email address (such as XXX@Microsoft.com), your account type is a True Account.
A free service account can only send 5 emails/day and cannot receive any emails.
The maximum attachment file size for a Free/True Account is 2MB. The maximum number of recipients is 3.
A Premium Account can send more emails/day with much less restrictions.
