Since yesterday, we had quite a few user reporting connection problems to DriveHQ.com. DriveHQ client apps like FileManager and WebDAV Drive Mapping Tool are also affected. Almost all of them use Comcast Internet service. Other Internet services such as AT&T and Verizon are totally fine. The DriveHQ cloud system does not have any problems.

We tested Comcast home Internet service and it works fine. We have reported the problem to Comcast. But Comcast is very slow in responding.

A few users told us that it is caused by Comcast Business' Security Edge feature. You can log in to your Comcast Business account and disable the Security Edge feature. Then DriveHQ.com will be unblocked. So it probably is a quick solution. We recommend contacting Comcast if you experience this problem. Their Security Edge feature incorrectly blocked DriveHQ.com.

In the meantime, DriveHQ also has a few workaround solutions:

1. Access our website using a backup domain:

                https://drivehq.firstcloudit.com

2. Try our latest beta version. It can utilize our backup domain. So it probably can solve the problem. (We will release them soon so you can download them directly from our software page in the future)

                Beta version FileManager x64: https://www.drivehq.com/folder/p39750/111895432416.aspx

Beta version Drive Mapping Tool x64: https://www.drivehq.com/folder/p39750/111895434024.aspx

If the DriveHQ domain is blocked and you cannot download them, please use:

                https://drivehq.firstcloudit.com/folder/p39750/111895432416.aspx

3. If you currently use FTP, and if you can switch to SFTP, then you can use the server's IP address without using the domain name. The SFTP server IP is 66.220.9.51 (at the default port 22).

4. Edit the local hosts file to bypass DNS on the affected PC. It works for all apps (FileManager, WebDAV Drive Mapping, FTP and web browser) on this PC only.

The hosts file is in this folder:

C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc

Edit the hosts file in Notepad, add the following 4 lines:

   66.220.9.51 proftp.drivehq.com

   66.220.9.57 www.drivehq.com

   66.220.9.57 drivehq.com

   66.220.9.50 ftp.drivehq.com

Note the file is system protected. So please save it to your desktop first, and make sure you remove the file extension (Windows Notepad will save it as hosts.txt, rename it to hosts without extension). You can then copy & paste and overwrite the hosts file in the above folder.
