NOTES: On the final day of the season, the Muckrakers and Fishbiscuits each won their last game, placing them in a tie for the Paige division title. The title is the 4th in 5 years for the Muckrakers and is the 1st for the Fishbiscuits since 2001. According to tie breaker rules, the teams battled to a 6-6 regular season tie, so the next tiebreaker (run margin) is in Madison's favor, sporting a +244 run margin to DBL's +199. The Aaron division title for the Friars is their 2nd straight, Anchorage's Gehrig division title is their first since 2004, and for the Pilots it is their 2nd Tiant division title in 3 years. The playoff bracket is below: The playoff bracket is below: AP Conference: (1) Madison Muckrakers (105-57, Paige division champ) (HFA) vs. BYE (2) Point Lomas Friars (103-59, Aaron division champ) (HFA) vs. (3) DBL Fishbiscuits (105-57, AP Conference Wildcard) GT Conference: (1) Milwaukee Pilots (114-48, Tiant division champ) (HFA) vs. (4) Round 0 winner (2) Anchorage Gold Diggers (107-55, Gehrig division champ) (HFA) vs. (3) Half Moon Bay Dragons (107-55, GT Conference Wildcard) Round 0: Dedham Destroyers (105-57, #1 league wildcard) (HFA) vs. Georgia Pines (98-64, #2 league wildcard) The team that just missed the playoffs was the 95-win Manhatten Beach Mashers, who will pick 8th overall behind the 95 loss club. The 95 loss club this year determined the top of the draft order and will be as follows: 1. Arkham Investigators 98 losses (Last time in playoffs 2001) 2. Boston Bulldogs 108 losses (Last time in playoffs 2006) 3. Albuquerque Maul 126 losses (Last time in playoffs 2007) 4. Brookeville Bandits 139 losses (#1 pick in 2008) 5. Concord Minutemen 114 losses (Last time in playoffs 2008) 6. Hong Kong Cavaliers 103 losses (Last time in playoffs 2008) 7. Montreal Voltigeurs 102 losses (Last time in playoffs 2008) Having gone 1-4 in his last game, Milwaukee's Ichiro Suzuki became the first batter in the history of the league to hit over .400 (in this case .401), breaking Barry Bonds' .393 mark from way back in 1993. Ichiro's 297 hits also set a new record, shattering Willie McGee's 262 mark in 1990. Ichiro also carried a 34 game hitting streak to the end of the season, matching the record set by 2 others. In team records, the rebuilding Brookeville Bandits tied the low water mark for team saves with 12 and 3 teams (Tualatin, Hong Kong, Brookeville) tied for fewest complete games with 0. Thanks again for another great season, I will post playoff information shortly!
