2009 CDBL-ALL STAR GAME The 2009 CDBL All-Star game was held at Coors Field, home of the Half Moon Bay Dragons, the team with the best record at the break. In the top of the 2nd, off of Dragons ace Brian Bannister, Aaron Hill of the Muckrakers went yard. 1-0 AP All-Stars after 2. In the 4th, Elk Grove's Ryan Braun made it 3-0 with a solo home run. The GT All-Stars cut the lead to 1 in the 5th when Alex Rodrigeuz of the Dragons connected on a solo home run. But Braun came through again, hitting an insurance solo home run in the 7th to put the AP All-Stars up 3-1. The score remained 3-1 heading into the bottom of the 9th. Andrew Bailey of the Friars was pitching for the AP All-Stars. Milwaukee Pilots infielder Ryan Zimmerman grounded out. Dragons slugger Mark Teixeira walked. Friars setup man Bailey was pulled, and Friars closer Trevor Hoffman came on to the mound. Pinch hitter Adam LaRoche of the Pilots singled, putting 2 runners on. After Climbers outfield Justin Upton struck out, Dragons outfield Johnny Damon walked, loading the bases with 2 outs and the GT All-Stars down by 2. Up came Alex Rodriguez, batting in front of the home crowd with the game on the line. On a 3-2 bases loaded pitch, Rodriguez hit a pop out, sending the ball to Aaron Hill's waiting glove to end the game. The AP All-Stars win the 2009 CDBL All-Star game by a score of 3-1. 2009 CDBL ALL-STAR MVP: MVP honors this year goes to Elk Grove's Ryan Braun, who went 3 for 3 with 2 solo home runs to put his team
