NOTES: The 2008 regular season of the CDBL is complete! The Point Lomas Friars ride a 9 game winning streak all the way to the Aaron division title, their first since 2005. Montreal won their last game of the season, clinching a playoff spot and knocking the Destroyers out of the playoffs (who had also lost their last game, so a double knock out?). Springfield's Paige division title is their first since 2004, Hong Kong's Gehrig division title is their first since 2005, and Alphaville (who also had the league's best record) has their first Tiant division title since 2001. The playoffs are structured as below: Round 0 (Best 2 out of 3 games, H-A-H): Manhatten Beach Mashers (97-65) vs. Montreal Voltigeurs (97-65) (HFA) (Montreal was 7-5 vs Mashers in regular season) (1) Springfield Isotopes (106-56) (HFA) vs. Round 0 Winner (2) Point Lomas Friars (98-64) (HFA) vs. DBL Fishbiscuits (98-64) (AP Conference Wildcard) (1) Alphaville Caution (108-54) (HFA) vs. BYE (2) Hong Kong Cavaliers (101-61) (HFA) vs. Concord Minutemen (98-64) (GT Conference Wildcard) The top of the 2009 CDBL draft will be as follows with the members of this year's "95 loss club" 1. Brookeville Bandits (40-122) (#1 overall pick in 2002) 2. Tualatin Thunder (40-122) (Last made playoffs 2005) 3. Carlsbad Surfers (50-112) (Last made playoffs in 2006) 4. Milwaukee Pilots (33-129) (Last made playoffs in 2007) Finishing just out of the playoffs, the 95-win Dedham destroyers will draft 5th overall. The only record matched this year was for fewest complete games by a pitcher, with the Bandits failing to record any complete games this year, matching 4 other teams (all set within the past 3 years!). Playoff information will be sent out shortly. Thanks again for another great season!
